Michael Gerard Tyson was born at Brownsville, Brooklyn on the 30th of June, 1966. During his early years, Tyson was constantly abused by older children in his neighborhood. He gained a reputation for attacking anyone who would make fun of his high-pitched lisp. While growing up, Tyson often resorted to stealing and mugging, which had led to him being arrested 38 times by the age of 13. He later ended up being discovered for his boxing talent by an ex-boxer and counselor at a juvenile detention center.
