Lights Out Ali Boxing Poster

Muhammad Ali is widely regarded as one of the best professional boxers in the history of the sport. Born on January 17, 1942, Ali’s father was a billboard and sign painter, while his mother stayed home to tend to household duties. His birth name, Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr., would later be changed to Muhammad Ali after becoming a member of the Nation of Islam. Ali’s boxing career began in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was under the guidance of two trainers. The young boxer went on to win six Golden Gloves titles in Kentucky and two national Golden Gloves titles. Aside from this, Ali won an Amateur Athletic Union National Title as well as the gold medal in the Light Heavyweight boxing division in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. When he ended his amateur career to go professional, Ali had a record of 100 wins and only five losses. During his professional career, Ali had defeated nearly all of the top heavyweights during his time, which is regarded as the golden age of heavyweight boxing. The boxer is currently known as one of the greatest professional boxers of all time.

The ‘Louisville Lip’

This poster is a classic example of how Muhammad Ali enjoyed taunting his opponents with trash talk. The quote on the poster reads, “I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark.” Ali was given the nickname “Louisville Lip,” because he was born in Louisville and because he would always trash talk, regardless of whether he won or lost the bout. Some have even gone as far as to declare Ali as the King of Trash Talk. Still, Muhammad Ali certainly has the credentials to back up all of his Louisville lip.

For avid fans of Ali, this poster is the perfect gift. As a source of inspiration, this poster can help bring out the best in every boxer and boxer-at-heart.
